When you’re talking about features, remember that Wyze hasn’t been around for very long, so bugs and a lack of capabilities are generally expected.

One of the features that gets discussed quite often and that seems to be on the come up is the ability to view and live stream multiple cameras at once. Presently, there is no way to do this on the Wyze app, but the company is currently in the beta-testing phase of their next update, which is said to include features along this line.

Arguably, another downfall is the lack of any desktop application. Wyze’s app is strictly for mobile, so you aren’t able to turn your desktop into a monitoring station unless you use a third-party program, and that’s what people have been doing all this time.

Certain third-party applications give users greater control over their cameras and the ability to watch multiple cameras at once. Still, the company has proven to be pretty responsive to user requests and appears to be working on their app to improve its capabilities, so there is surely more to come with the future updates.

As far as viewing multiple cameras with Wyze, you currently have a few options, and until Wyze updates the app, you are limited to these options.

Viewing Cameras with the Wyze App

Presently, you can’t view all of your Wyze indoor cameras simultaneously on the app itself, but if you look into forums and the Wyze community, this appears to be something they are working on.

Also, when you are looking at your cameras, you are only looking at images from when they were last live, and you will have to click on the cameras individually to refresh the feed. Once you do that, you will be able to live stream the footage from that camera, but you can’t do that with multiple cameras at once. T

his poses a problem for a lot of people who have these cameras set up around their house and find it difficult to quickly switch back and forth between cameras to see what’s going on.

Even though you can’t easily view multiple cameras at once with the Wyze app, you can use a few different third-party applications to make this happen. Otherwise, you can consider being a beta tester, which has its own benefits.

Live Streams vs. Snapshot Images

The Wyze app shows you snapshots of your cameras, but these are snapshots of the last time you live-streamed. So, for example, if you live stream at night and don’t open the app until morning, you will be looking at a snapshot of the night-time live stream when you wake up. To get the live stream back, you will have to open the camera specifically so that it refreshes.

Wyze might allow you to view multiple snapshots at once, but consistent and simultaneous live streaming has yet to be added. If you are buying indoor security cameras, it’s likely because you want to keep an eye on your home, but the current setup isn’t exactly ideal.

Become a Beta Tester

If you want to know what’s going on with the Wyze products and their application, you might consider signing up to be a beta tester for the company.

The purpose of beta testing is to work out all of the bugs before officially releasing an application or an update, so you’d be able to experience Wyze’s latest changes before anyone else, and you’d also be able to provide valuable information that helps them perfect the new features before the official release.

Beta testing would give you access to early updates and features such as the ability to view multiple cameras at once. Wyze is currently in a Beta-testing phase that includes multiple camera viewing and camera grouping that you might see on the app in the near future, but the only way to access those features now is to sign up for the beta program.

Android and iOS users will have different beta-testing requirements, so make sure that you research Wyze’s beta program to learn more about what you can expect and how to get started.

However, if you are not a beta tester and have no interest in doing that, but you still want a way to view multiple Wyze cameras, you can try out one of the third-party options.

Use the tinyCam Monitor Instead of the Wyze App

One of the apps that people have been using to view their Wyze cameras simultaneously is tinyCam. tinyCam is an application that allows for remote viewing of private cameras such as Wyze, and with the tinyCam app, you’ll be looking at a live view of your Wyze cameras as opposed to what’s currently available, which is just a snapshot.

The tinyCam application is fully compatible with Wyze cameras, and you’ll see a drop-down menu where “Wyze Labs” is already included. All you have to do is select “add camera” and provide the necessary information to connect your at-home devices.

When you do this, you are able to effortlessly view the live feed, so it could be worthwhile, even if you only have one camera. If you have more than one, it’s even better. If you do plan on connecting multiple cameras to your tinyCam app, remember to change the “channel number” for each camera so that they are displayed the way you want them to be.

With tinyCam, you’ll be able to view up to 25 cameras, and this application also supports Android TV, Chromecast, and related systems. The downside is that it’s strictly an Android application and isn’t available for iOS yet.

Use the Free Program from Bluestacks.com

Another option you’ll have is Bluestacks.com, and this site offers a free program for Windows PCs, but again, iOS users might not have access to this either. Bluestacks.com lets you run Android apps on your computer, which would include Wyze. This method is less direct than tinyCam, but it still works.

You’re essentially viewing the images on your phone or on the desktop computer through the Bluestacks.com program, so you can basically project your Wyze app onto the desktop.

Not only does this allow you to view a single camera on the desktop, but Bluestacks.com also has a switch called “multi-instance” that allows you to view the same application more than once. This way, you’ll be able to open the Wyze camera app again with a second camera open, and you’ll then have two cameras up on your desktop.

You can do this repeatedly with each of your cameras and shrink the windows so that they all fit on the same screen, and you’ll basically have your own DIY monitoring station.

Use Multiple Devices

If you download the Wyze app on more than one device, you’ll be able to view different indoor cameras on each one. Unlike those applications listed above, the Wyze app itself is available for both Android and iOS products, and you can download it on both smartphones and tablets.

If you are away from home but with your family, you can have everybody pull up the app to a different camera so that you can live stream different cameras at the same time.

Unfortunately, there don’t appear to be any other ways to view multiple cameras at once, especially if you want to have each camera providing a live feed. Wyze is just now coming up on two years old, so whatever issues you have with the application will likely be addressed in the coming updates.

Wait for the Next Update

If you don’t feel like messing with third-party applications or are unable to because you have an Apple device, you may just have to wait for the next update.

If you follow the Wyze community at all, you will know that they started Beta testing this March. The Beta includes an updated version of the application that directly tackles this issue of not being able to view multiple cameras at once. For example, they’re testing camera groupings that enable you to group cameras by location, so you can keep your outdoor cameras and your indoor cameras in separate groups.

You will be able to view the cameras in each group simultaneously, but it’s unclear whether or not this includes live feeds. Keep in mind that this is just a Beta, so there are really no guarantees.

However, Wyze is certainly aware of the fact that people are having to use third-party websites and applications to view and stream multiple indoor security cameras at once, so unless that is part of their business plan, they’ll presumably be addressing that sooner or later.

How to Get the Features You Want

If there’s something about the Wyze app that you don’t like, or if there’s a feature that you want to see in future updates, the best way to make sure the change takes place is to be active in the community.

Aside from leaving reviews in the App stores, you can be more active in forums. Wyze has a subreddit on Reddit, for example, where Wyze employees are active. You’ll be able to express your concerns almost directly to the company, and you’ll be able to see who else in the community shares this concern.

You never know when you’ll bring something to their attention that they didn’t see previously. You’ll also be able to learn whether or not something you’ve been concerned about is currently being discussed.
